MIX IT UP
Adding variety to my leather jewellery collection, I have introduced a small range of bracelets varying in colour. New colours include bronze, pewter, midnight and a beautiful reversible blue suede (light to cobalt blue). All can be worn alone or mix n matched with each other depending on what you fancy that day.

INSPIRING A FEELING THROUGH ROSE TINTED GLASSES
Tank magazine editorial late last year of beauty shining through as a 'Gypsy Rose'...
... I found these images in an old Tank magazine I was rifling through. I have such
a huge pile of magazines that I should really give a second chance to get some
inspiration from for future projects.
Beautiful photography never gets old.

HOLLA AT THE HUDSONS
The Hudson family came into town this weekend for the opening of the show and loved it. They hadn't seen any of my final work so it was nice to get some fresh eyes on it as I have been looking at it for weeks now itching to do more.
Mother Hudson and me snapped.
As my Dad played paparazzi for the evening, he got some quite good snaps of the exhibitions first viewing...
Flora, Becky and me being snapped by my trigger happy father.
Already got a few orders for the laser cut leather bracelets!!!!!

NEW VISUALS
The images featured above are the negative cuttings from my laser cut silk designs. My laser technician and I always thought they looked so beautiful and eye catching but I had no idea what to do with them in terms of adding depth to my project. UNTIL an image I found on The Window Shopper blog gave me an idea.
This is a photo from the window display of Alexander McQueen in January this year in London.
As I have been looking at other ways of progressing into the fashion industry apart from design, this led me to another way of getting a grip on a slightly different area... visual merchandising. Therefore I tried to create a visual merchandising piece that was part of my design project and would accentuate the mood, feel and delicacy of my sample collection.
After lots of experimenting with sticky back vinyl, sticky back plastic and engraving, I came to a method in which I could produce these pieces simply. No backing, just balance. All of these pieces on the back of the perspex are engraved around and therefore are attached around the edges lightly but not permanently, adding to the delicate, uneven, slightly fallen apart style.
Images of how they work within my degree show will be coming soon.
ADDING TO THE COLLECTION
Just days before the degree show opens to display the past few months of hard work completed by Textiles at Nottingham Trent, I thought I'd add a few more images of my leather lace jewellery collection to maybe entice a visit to the gallery show next week. It promises to be fab!!
When my degree show is over I think the skinny cut bracelet will become a permanent feature on my wrist.
